You may be here because you’ve been hearing about alternative diets to feed your pets; non-commercially processed foods, even raw diets!

So what’s the scoop?

Cheap processed ‘foods’ KILL.*

Cheap Commercial Cans and Kibbles Kill.   Really.

In a nutshell, poor quality commercially cooked kibbles and processed ‘food products’ are responsible for much of the astronomic increase we are seeing of chronic debilitating illnesses, allergies, diabetes, and cancers in our pets. If your pet has these odd, chronic problems (Itchy skin? Smelly ears? Bad gas?) that you have been treating with medicines, well perhaps there is a root cause in what he’s eating!  We may be able to eliminate your pets’ problems with a dietary consult and change, and toss those medicines away that are trying to treat the symptoms of a bad diet!

OK, so what do our loved pets need to eat? What to do?

Cats are obligate carnivores; they should have a diet of 70-75% high quality whole animal protein.

Dogs are carnivores and scavengers; they should have a diet of 50% high quality whole animal protein,  plus fresh veggies,  and they can process oatmeals, brown rice, in limited quantities.

Our beloved pets are by far the healthiest when we can feed them a diet that is like this!

What your pet needs may be very specific, depending on history and physical examination, dietary sensitivities, weight, age, illness, environmental factors, etc.

Some basic recommendations are: feed whole food diets, with no glutens, no soy, no corn. Feed as fresh as possible; feed raw/frozen (many available) or make yourself. If you buy kibble, get whole food ‘ancestral’ type kibble diets, and only buy in a quantity that will be eaten within 2 weeks–these kibbles are preserved with oils, and oils exposed to air start to go rancid in 2 weeks, and rancid oils can be carcinogenic!  NEVER buy ‘out of date’ kibble, even on ‘sale’!!
